PHILADELPHIA, May 13, 2024 – As their growth momentum continues, the rebranded Vaughan McLean signifies a new era for the firm, originally formed by Joseph E. Vaughan in 2011 as O’Hagan LLC. Vaughan and Tracey A. McLean will lead the firm, Vaughan McLean. Vaughan McLean currently spans seven states with 16 office locations. They’ve welcomed seven new attorneys so far this year, adding three new practice areas – land use/development, alternative dispute resolution and estate law, with geographical expansion on the horizon.
Vaughan expanded the firm at one of the most challenging times experienced in our country through the dedication and hard work of the firm’s attorneys and administrative professionals, which dedication resulted in a successful, thriving, and growing firm. Vaughan and his talented team could not be more excited about the addition of McLean as a leader who will continue to expand the firm’s market presence on all fronts. As Vaughan states, “Tracey brings a combination of legal expertise and personal relatability that makes her an exceptional leader and strategic partner for the firm internally and for our clients. I cannot commend her enough for her dedication on all fronts.”
“When my colleagues and I arrived in 2021, it was clear we had joined something pretty special.” said McLean. “We wanted to be a part of a cohesive firm that fostered collaboration and centered around building and sustaining relationships, both with each other and our clients. With Joe’s help, we have created that environment here, and I’m convinced that is the reason our firm has attracted and retained such incredible professionals. I am honored to join Joe and excited to be part of everything this team will accomplish together going forward.” McLean’s focus will include working with attorneys and staff across the firm to collectively build a culture in which professional development thrives, the sense of community flourishes, and a fulfilling work-life balance remains prioritized.
McLean brings almost 30 years of experience litigating a wide range of cases before state, federal and administrative courts, representing employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation claims. Her long-standing relationships with her clients are the cornerstone of her successful practice. Tracey is also a dedicated, active member of the legal community in central New York. She has been a member of the Arbitration Panel for the Syracuse City Court, adjudicating cases and issuing binding decision on disputes; a Law Guardian in the Fourth Department, representing and protecting the interests of children in legal proceedings; and a Pro Bono panelist of the Onondaga County Bar Association, providing legal advice and assistance to victims of domestic violence. Outside of her legal endeavors, Tracey is active with the animal rescue community throughout New York State assisting with the fostering, transporting, and advocating for homeless animals, and fundraising for the non-profit organizations that support them.
Vaughan is known and respected for his tenacity as a litigator as well as his strategic counsel that helps clients mitigate operational risks. Over his extensive 40-year career, Vaughan has successfully defended employers and insurance carriers in a range of high-stakes claims and exposures, including actions brought by numerous government agencies, involving issues such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, patent infringement, and professional liability.
In addition to the recently launched land use and development, estate law, and alternative dispute resolution practices, Vaughan McLean specializes in providing strategic counsel to regional, national, and international clients in the construction, transportation, general and professional liability, workers’ compensation, and employment practice areas. The members of Vaughan McLean are excited to begin this bright, new chapter.
