Biography
Laura M. Mayes focuses her practice on property, casualty and general liability defense and commercial litigation, defending individual and corporate clients in complex casualty litigation and commercial disputes. From her foundation in Big Law, Laura gained experience representing a variety of professionals across a number of regional jurisdictions, developing her capacity to quickly learn and implement state laws and regulations. She has represented physicians and facilities in medical, nursing homes and professional malpractice cases in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She has also represented contractors and manufacturers in products liability, asbestos and toxic tort cases. Laura manages her cases from inception through resolution — from drafting pleadings and responding to discovery, to motion practice and witness preparation for depositions and trial testimony. Laura has also garnered significant experience at trial and in arbitrations, mediations and settlement negotiations.
