Jeffrey L. Marks

Biography

Jeff Marks focuses his practice on workers’ compensation defense, representing clients including both public and private employers, professional employer organizations, insureds, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. With his considerable depth of experience, he’s described as a “calm, knowledgeable and resourceful” litigator and negotiator. Jeff helps his clients navigate the pitfalls and complexities of workers’ compensation matters and identifies his responsiveness as a trait that sets him apart.

For more than 30 years, clients have been relying on Jeff for his expertise and track record of success. In his representation of a national insurance carrier, Jeff proved that false statements were made by the claimant in the case in their bid to secure workers’ compensation benefits. The Court found that the claimant violated the statute and was barred from receiving benefits, resulting in a win for the insurance carrier. Representing a regional hospital, Jeff proved to the Court that there was no objective medical evidence of the claimant’s alleged injury. The Court also found that the claimant failed to provide timely notice of her injury, which led to the claim for compensation being denied and the case being dismissed.

Jeff earned his Juris Doctorate, with Honors, from the University of Florida College of Law. He is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Outside of his practice, Jeff is the father of three children. His interests include reading, professional and collegiate sports, and spending time with his family.
