Biography
Edward A. Jacobson focuses his practice on workers’ compensation insurance defense and administrative law. He has defended injury claims on behalf of clients in the public and private sector, including the State of Florida and companies related to the trucking, construction, landscaping, and restaurant industries. Ed has attended numerous mediations on behalf of his clients and has litigation experience before the judges of compensation claims throughout the State of Florida. He has prior experience representing claimants before the Social Security Administration and has attended hundreds of hearings before U.S. administrative law judges.
Ed successfully defended a package delivery service involving an industrial accident that was seven years old. The injured worker sustained compensable fractures to two toes. Ed helped establish that the compensable injuries had healed after one and a half years from the initial accident date. Ed secured testimony from the authorized physician that further medical care and treatment was no longer medically necessary and causally related to the accident. The judge of compensation claims entered an order favorable to the employer/carrier and terminated further medical care.
Ed earned his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. While in law school, he interned with the Legal Services Corporation of Alabama. Ed is a member of the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the workers’ compensation section of the Florida Bar. In his free time, Ed enjoys the beach, travel, reading, exercise, televised sports, and spending time with his family.
